This post will review Azsky G6 DVB-S2 Decoder in line with its features, specs and configuration. The guide will benefit the following set of people
- Potential users of Azsky G6
- Existing users who ran into a problem and therefore perform a factory reset on their G6
As at the time of purchase, your G6 comes bundled with an antenna, a remote control, an HDMI cable, a user manual and a 12v ac adapter.
As a new user, before you buy a g6, you must have had the following mandatory Materials;
- A satellite dish pointing to the satellite you wish to view.
- Active internet connection. Preferably a 3G modem
- A tv set( if you want to utilize the full potentials of G6 use an HDMI cable)
What Azsky G6 DVB-S2 Decoder is Capable of Doing at the Moment:
- It’s capable of opening HD and SD Channels
- G6 can connect with two or more televisions at once. This can be done via the HDMI port, component port and the coaxial/RF port
- G6 supports blind scan and it supports free to air channels on major satellites like multitv, daarsat, malagasy, nilesat, mytv etc..
- Also, you can use it with other decoders and dongles
- Azsky G6 is Cccam-compliant.
- G6 can search for and connect to a wifi hotspot only with a USB WIFI adapter, attached to G6
- G6 can be connected to ethernet LAN cable for internet sharing.
How do you Setup Azsky G6 DVB-S2 Decoder?
After connecting your g6, to the power source, you need to first perform the following three physical operations to the rear panel as explain below;
- You insert your sim card
- you screw in the antenna (the antenna is as important as the sim card slot, please don’t damage your antenna while trying to screw it in tightening it in the anti-clockwise direction)
- You turn the switch to “Twin”
- And you connect your LNB cable that comes from your dish to the back of your g6 decoder.
Inside the Decoder Configuration
When your decoder display on your tv set, what your notice is the following:
Press “OK” on your remote, and it takes you to the next page where you will select your preferred satellite, and scan for your favorite channels
on this window, you need to scroll down on the list of satellites until you get to the satellite of your choice, in my case, I choose I 036.0 E Ku-Eutelsat
Here you will need to change two things but one is more important… You need to change your LNB mode from 5150 to 9750/10600.
If you don’t do this, you won’t have a signal. Secondly, if you have a DiSEqC switch, then you need to switch DiSEqC mode on for you to receive a signal from the satellite. If everything goes well, you get the picture below;
Now, press the green button on your remote and it will take you to the scan page;
Next, scroll to scan mode and change from default TP to Blind, then press the green button on your remote to start the scanning.
After it finished scanning, it will automatically take you to the home screen where you will see all the scanned channels. you can then start watching.
Basic Tips $ TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE:
- Help I receive “no service available / no signal” when trying to view any channel on G6.(Solutions; check that your LNB cable is well fixed to the back of you g6 and also select 9750/ 10600 under satellite settings of G6)
- Solutions to when the two lights at the back of your Azsky G6 DVB-S2 Decoder is locked on RED(check if you still have data bundle/airtime on your sim, check if other G6 are working, power off your G6 and power it on then switch the back switch to “Twin”, check if you have firmly attached your antenna, check if there is network signal on the sim you have inserted into your g6. Or, change your sim.
- I have data on my sim and I have set everything, but i can’t watch youtube on my G6; (Solution, for now you can only access you-tube or use cccam account on g6 via a router and a 3g modem.)
- Help how can I move /rename/delete channels: (Solution, it is under channels editor)
- I bought my G6, but when i switch it on, its displaying only the red standby light?(Solution, the decoder’s software has been damaged, you may need to return it or fix this with G6 loader, stay tuned to lemmymorgan.com for an update on this.
- I want to connect more than one tv simultaneously,( you can do this via HDMI port, coaxial or av port at the back of the decoder)
- Help i want to upgrade my G6 Software. follow this post.
- Help i can’t save a setting on my G6?(to save or confirm any setting on G6press the menu button not the exit button)
- What value should my function module be?(Let it be in Auto)the function module is under menu>>others
- I have more than 800 channels it’s so inconvenient scrolling through them one after the other. (Solution: you can scroll page by page by pressing the left or right navigation button on your remote. Better still search the exact channel you want to watch by pressing the yellow button on your remote. You can as well memorize the number of your favorite channels or add your favorite channels into favorite groups)
- Don’t use the “apnsetting” on G6 for whatever reason.

My G6 does not detect any network. The sim card has data working and has never been used for blackberry. All channels show “scrambled service”. When using a Wifi 3G router connected to the RJ45 port, I can see Youtube videos, but the tv/radio channels remain scrambled. Please assist
@fidu, you must use direct sim card if you want to watch scrambled dst* channels with g6
u say ”Don’t use apnsetting on G6 for whatever reason” what would happen if u did? and how do u reverse it? I used the APN tool to configure my g6 and got a write successful message. However under network settings the 3G network status shows as ”not connected.
@maugitz, e.g if you use apnsetting and you are in Nigeria, it simply means you will be restricted to only one network instead of 4 gsm networks. You only use apnsetting in extreme cases whereby g6 is not detecting any sim card in your country
I am in Kenya. When I plugged in my sim card nothing happened. I checked the network status under network settings and noted that it stated ”not connected”. Even after using the apn setting tool the status did not change

@once you change the blackberry sim to a non-blackberry sim, it will start working
cant even watch one scramble chennel but the lights are green thats why I asked. and I wat to know what will happen if you use a chip with blackberry suscription.
@wills if you use a blackberry sim card, you wont be able to watch any channel on your g6

no comparison.. they are from different manufacturers just that g8 is a new product from another manufacturer which is currently more stable as a result of its newness

@Ifeanyi that error means there is a disconnection between your dish and your decoder. Check the connections properly. Mr Lemmy my own is some channels show one minute and the next minute they dont show. I havent been able to watch CNN and One Gospel and some others for some time now. Any hints? Thanks.

The guy I bought the G6 from asked me to connect it to my PC via the serial cable and setup the son. When I’m on twin mode, the signal light is green and the data is orange. When I’m on gps both are green. He claims it’s from my apn setting. Have u hd any issue like day?

apn setting loader is no longer required as long as you have loaded the new account.

It is awesome! I have finally done it (important channels live on D*tv are showing though freezes occasionally).
However I need a way out of duplicate channels due to several scanning. Please Hon. Lemmy Morgan help me out-this time around- on how to delete unwanted channels. I have tried via google but answers are not coming till now…I created favorite but not what I wanted.

Hello Guys , I have use azsky produce and also use A+ I think on my own way azsky produce is good than A+ . I think A+ did not have account that is why they freeze now days but if they also have account it will be ok and also azsky also like going off around 11:00am Ghana time in the morning but in the evening just small freeze so I could say tht in the evening azsky is best guys

I have been wondering why my G6 was not working but I have tested and now know that I was using a wrong Sim (a previous BB activated Sim) thanks Mr lemmy for this post.
Does it mean any sim previously used for BB will never work with AZSKY G6 even if it’s now on diff bundle package?

the data in LNB port has been removed from all the final release
In addition the first model released had no AV outlets for vedio and audio it only had coaxial outlet and Tv scart outlet
