This article will cover ways to configure your graphic cards so that you can get the best 3D/gaming performance from it especially those who love pc gaming and associated applications that heavily rely on 3D graphics.
Basically, I am presenting the Best 3D Settings for Intel Graphic Media Accelerator, ATI, and Nvidia. While these settings may be useful for modern intel HD graphics, AMD, and Nvidia, I actually designed this for the lower graphic cards from these manufacturers. As I was saying this post will cover “intel graphics OpenGL 3D Settings”, “Nvidia 3D Settings”, and AMD/ATI Catalyst 3D Control center settings. If you wish to learn about medium-range graphic cards such as into HD graphics, click here

Best 3D Settings for Intel Graphic Media Accelerator and Similar low-end Graphic Cards
This tweak is applicable to all basic graphic cards for the best 3D performance. However, these tips may slightly sacrifice quality for performance but you won’t even notice this at all so, it is worth it
NOTE: In most cases, modern game titles come with their own 3d performance settings please first make sure you set this to get the best performance. To help in this department, reduce the following settings to the tolerable minimum from within the game’s own graphic settings. 1. Sound or music quality, Sound volume, reduce game brightness, the game’s resolution, and your picture quality for games should be set to low or at most medium. For optimal performance, please don’t use the default settings of any game as it tends to eat up your computer’s resources.
Disclaimer: Apply wisdom in setting this and do not over-tweak your card
How to Manage Nvidia 3D Settings for Best 3D Performance
I will give you a step by step guide to what you disable or enable on this graphic card in order to maximize performance in the Performance console:
Note: This has been tested on 3D Settings for Nvidia Geforce, Forceware, and Nforce
- Anisotropic filtering: set it to 8x
- Negative LOD Bias: set it to Clamp
The remaining Settings is not likely to have much effect, but if you want, you can work around the followings:
- Anti-Aliasing gamma correction:> Off
- Anti-Aliasing: > Application controlled
- Anti-Aliasing transparency:> Multisampling
- Conformant texture clamp: >Use hardware
- Error reporting:> Off
- Extension limit:> Off
- Force mipmaps: >Bilinear
- Maximum pre-rendered frames: >1
- Multi-display/Mixed-GPU acceleration: >Single display performance mode
- Texture filtering: Anisotropic sample optimization: >On
- Texture filtering: Quality: >Performance
- Texture filtering: Trilinear optimisation: >On
- Threaded Optimisation:> On
- Tripple buffering: Off*
- Verticle sync: >Application controlled**
There are various considerations on tweaking the Vsync. In most cases, Enabling “vsync” will cap your frame rate, usually at 30 or 60 frames per second. Consequently, performance can suffer as a result so only enable it in games where you are already getting a steady 60 frames per second.
Vsync is used to eliminate image tearing which becomes more apparent when playing games at higher frame-rates. Another benefit of enabling vsync is it stops your GPU from over-rendering frames, meaning your GPU will do less work and thus run cooler.
Additionally, Enabling triple buffering can improve performance with VSYNC enabled.

Intel 3D OpenGL Settings for Best 3D Performance
As for the modified settings, The following settings will give you the best 3D performance that you can’t get from the default settings.
- Asynchronous Flip: on
- Triple Buffering: off
- Flipping Policy leave as default that is off or flip if you have the old card
- Depth Buffer Bit Depth: default is okay
- Force S3TC Texture Compression: on
- Force FXT1 Texture Compression: off
- Driver Memory Footprint: off it makes little difference anyway (unless on an overclocked system)
- Texture Color Depth: on or 32 bit
- Anisotropic Filtering: on
Lastly, restart your games and you will notice the improved performance.
The intel settings above apply to the Following Intel Cards :

First off, you need to download at catalyst driver for windows. Next, apply the settings for Intel or Nvidia above and you will be okay.

umm i have an intel 945 express chipset family and it had the same setting s so i did what you said on opengl settings and it got even worse i mean best performance not look what did i do wrong?
